Lenz appointed AP correspondent in Evansville, Ind.


INDIANAPOLIS -- Ryan Lenz, a newsman in the Portland, Maine, bureau of The Associated Press, has been appointed correspondent in Evansville.

The announcement was made April 21 by Keith Robinson, chief of bureau in Indianapolis , and Hank Ackerman, chief of bureau in Louisville. The Evansville correspondent covers news in southern Indiana and western Kentucky.


Lenz has been in Portland since January 2004. He entered the AP in 2000 in Indianapolis, where he worked until moving to Portland.


He previously taught English at Berlitz International Inc. in Chicago and was a research aide for the Agricultural Health Study at the University of Iowa.


Lenz succeeds Kimberly Hefling, who was promoted to Washington, where she is regional reporter for Pennsylvania.
