AP Press Release
All of McClatchy's daily newspapers join AP Mobile
The McClatchy Company announced today that all 30 of its daily newspapers have joined The Associated Press mobile news network.
Two McClatchy newspapers -- The Miami Herald and The Sacramento Bee -- joined AP Mobile in 2008. McClatchy's Spanish-language paper El Nuevo Herald, based in Miami, was also the first Spanish-language paper to be featured on the U.S.-Spanish section of AP Mobile.
"Mobile is a key component of McClatchy's overall digital strategy," said Christian Hendricks, McClatchy's vice president, interactive media. "Adding all our websites to AP Mobile makes it easier for consumers to access our local news and helps expand overall readership in our newspapers' markets."
AP Mobile is an award-winning multimedia news portal developed by The Associated Press that provides anytime access to international, national and local news. In addition to AP's own worldwide coverage of breaking news, sports, entertainment, politics and business, more than 1,000 AP members and third-party sources provide content for AP Mobile (www.apnews.com/).
"The addition of McClatchy's full network of newspapers further enriches AP Mobile's wealth of local news coverage," said Jane Seagrave, AP's senior vice president of global product development. "No other mobile news services combines so many original sources of credible, breaking news in a single, easy-to-navigate application."
