Niko Price named to new position of Latin America editor for
The
Associated Press
NEW YORK – Niko Price, correspondent at large
for The Associated Press based in Mexico City, has been named
to the new position of Latin America editor.
The appointment was announced Nov. 17 by Deborah Seward, AP's
international editor.
Price, who will continue to work from Mexico City, will be
responsible for directing coverage from Latin America in both
Spanish and English.
Price joined the AP in 1993 in Carson City,
Nevada, and transferred to Los Angeles six months later. He
became an editor on the International Desk at AP headquarters
in 1995 and transferred to Mexico City in 1997. He was named
news editor there in January 1999 and became correspondent-at-large,
covering major events around the globe, in January 2003.
Price was born in Amsterdam and graduated from
Harvard University. He is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and
French.
